Pilot Records is an independent record label founded in Adelaide, Australia in 2012, also where the label is currently based. The label is focused around releasing music of live electronic nature while also incorporating the use of more traditional ‘band’ instruments such as guitar, bass, drums etc – something that the label likes to refer to as ‘hybrid electronic music’.
Signing up in the label’s debut year is an all-Adelaide artist roster, including Oisima, Ride Into The Sun, Urtekk, Question Question and No Birds – with more artists in the pipeline for 2013. Landing with a splash and releasing some of the city’s most promising acts, Pilot Records quickly became recognised within the local scene and is currently expanding it’s network into other areas both nationally and internationally.
Upon founding the label, Pilot Records would abide by its mission statement: “Pilot Records strives to create and support original music of the highest quality composition and production, alongside the best in live entertainment – all the time drawing inspiration from the greatest artists, technologies and ideals from the past and the present to help the music industry maintain an original, exciting and innovative future for both recorded and live music.”
