About

  • In the Summer of 2006, four socially frustrated but musically obsessed DJ/ producers set about changing the nightlife in their sleepy hometown. Jaymo, Andy George, Tom Staar and Ben TT had a plan - and that plan was Moda. In October, they, and around 300 of their friends, took over an intimate loft-space and proceeded to throw a party of historical proportions. The lines between the people playing the music and the people dancing to it were blurred, the atmosphere was amazing, the music was even better. Everyone was talking about it - Moda had arrived! DJ's such as Switch, Crookers, Annie Mac and Touche became overnight ambassadors for the Moda movement. But with parties hitting capacity an hour after opening the doors, and constant queues around the block, it was time to find a new home - and in April 2008 Moda moved into a 1600 capacity warehouse just in time to record Jaymo & Andy George's debut Essential Mix, live in-front of a sold-out capacity crowd. It was also that night Jaymo & Andy recorded a video interview, which found its way to the bosses at Radio 1. Impressed by their enthusiasm, knowledge and dynamic, they were invited to audition for a slot on In New DJ's We Trust. Up against some massive industry names, the odds seemed to be against them, but with the same passion that took Moda from a dimly lit bar to an epic warehouse, the boys soon found themselves taking the sound of Moda to millions of listeners, via the worlds most influential radio station. By this point, the bluetouch paper wasn't just lit, it was burnt… to cinders! Moda the party was receiving accolades from many of the leading dance publications and blogs and the Moda team were DJ-ing all over Europe - it was time to push things forward once more. So at the end of that year, Craig Duranti joined the Moda
