Ground Level is a breaks, beats and bass label, based in the Midlands, established in 2007. In our short time as a label we’ve been nominated as Best Breakthrough Label at Breakspoll, had our music licensed by Defected Records and had our music used on an advert for Schuh.
Ground Level started as a vinyl label in 2007, before moving to the digital format in 2009. By December 2011 we’ll have had 40 releases out which incorporate 114 individual tracks, and two digital compilations out (Ground Level Remixed and Disruptive Beats).
Our music has been supported and played by Groove Armada, DJ Icey, Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts, Skool of Thought, Drumattic Twins, Slyde, Keith MacKenzie, Aquasky and many more players in the breaks scene.
The Ground Level definition of a breaks is music with a broken beat and an underground feel and embraces everything including Nu Skool Breaks, Baile Funk, Miami Bass, Progressive Breaks, Moombahton, Bass Music, New Jungle, Old Jungle, Nu-Funk, Ghetto Bass and countless other genres that haven’t even been invented yet!
