Prolifica Records are a new EMI:Chrysalis imprint set up in collaboration with Gavino Prunas and Stefano Anselmetti of F&G Management
Drawing from a strong dance background we intend to embark on a mission to explore the musical possibilities which are opening up in a “post-dance” era of ever increasing cross-genre contamination.
Prolifica Records, through its initial signings, aims to establish itself as a new breed of “underground crossover” label where the luxury of being able to let tracks grow organically from the streets into the mainstream is balanced with careful consideration of marketing opportunities.
Prolifica intends to pursue a wide eclectic musical policy (to include nu and post dance as well as electronic rock, pop and jazz) putting musical values over and above stale considerations of genre
Gavino Prunas started F&G with his wife Francesca Nesi as a DJ booking agency in the late 80’s helping to create the growing phenomenon of the super star DJ.
Working closely with the fledgling Ministry of Sound, F&G quickly established itself as a leading force representing the likes of up and coming US jocks Deep Dish, Todd Terry, Danny Tenaglia, Masters at Work, Roger Sanchez and UK stars like Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling, CJ Mackintosh, Fabio and Grooverider.
His previous background included various activities ranging from private banking to advertising, from TV journalism to event organisation, PR and sponsorship.
Stefano Anselmetti joined F&G in the mid 90’s when the company started catering for DJ turned producers management requirements.
Coming from a label and club background, Stefano was running his own seminal night Soul Inn’ @ WKD as well as his own imprint called Shakedown Sounds. Previous work experience - coincidentally - is also finance and journalist oriented.
