Next Step To Future is a young label for fine underground club music. The label focuses on Techno and House productions but also releases Ambient and Experimental. For the NSTF founders only one thing counts: to feature unique artists. They promote tracks with character but certain imperfections, rather than excellently produced music which only aims for the lowest common denominator. NTSF wants to be a platform for this credo. The goal is to establish an institution for interesting and diverse club music.
Right now the label ist mainly active in the digital realm. Digital releases, social media campaigns and playlist-positions are important. At NSTF parties the artists present the label and their music in the physical space.
The two DJs and producers Maximilan Helten (aka Helten) and Simon König (aka Golden Plate) founded NSTF while studying in Salzburg, Austria. The didn’t want to fulfill the demo policy of the major labels. Those usually demand an exact copy of the respective label sounds. Having these restrictions in mind, it becomes harder for the artists to develop a singular style. To avoid these creative pitfalls the two founders decided to start a label and to go their own way.
NSTF is also made possible through a motivated circle of friends who supports the label with design, programming, marketing and event management.
