Kryptox is a new Berlin based label dedicated to the raising german neo- jazz scene. The label wants to show all these young musicians that mix jazz, kraut and electronica vibes. Kryptox was founded in 2018 by Mathias Modica and some friends. Modica used to run Gomma records before. The label that co-started the indie disco wave in the early 2000’s. Gomma released innovative music by artists such as WhoMadeWho, Peaches, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, Munk, The Rammellzee, James Murphy a.o,. Later the guys created Toy Tonics records - the Berlin based Disco and Dancefloor funk label.
Now on Kryptox Modica and his partners concentrate on the young, but raising new german scene of bands and instrumentalists that are creating new forms of jazz crossover music with no borders. The label’s early output sounds like a mixture of Brainfeeder and Brownwsood records. First albums were by Stimming x Lambert, JJ Whitefeld, Ralph Heidel. For end of 2019 the label announced KRAUT JAZZ FUTURISM. A compilation with 17 new and upcoming German Jazz groups and artists.
