The Confined Media label started in 2006 as part of the Confined Media overall concept; we are a collective of individuals who DJ, produce music, throw occasional shows, work as press at club events and festivals around the country, and write album and equipment reviews every so often. Originally centered in Seattle, we’ve moved primarily to the Los Angeles area, where we’ve gotten some education in the audio recording and engineering fields, and have even done some experimentation with studio construction.
All of our experiences shape the music that we put out on the label, and our output ebbs and flows over time. With more than two dozen EPs and four artist albums released through the last eight years, the label is more a platform for us to experiment with sound and put our efforts out there than to try to emulate any other trends that are going on. Skipping through our releases, you’ll hear a lot of club-oriented material, but around the edges there are soundscapes, pop-indie tunes, noise music, and some other slanted material to keep your interest.
