About

  • It’s hard to measure the impact that Fuse has had on techno in the past 20 years. Capturing the energy as the dance music of Detroit exploded into a global phenomenon in the 90s, the club has always stood proud as a bastion of techno culture that continues a long tradition of uncompromising electronic music in Belgium. From Motor City innovators such as Juan Atkins, Robert Hood and Carl Craig to show stopping acts like Bjork, Daft Punk and Aphex Twin, and every underground legend in between, the cast of characters in Fuse’s long history is comprehensive. As such, the prospect of such an institution setting up a record label comes with a great weight of expectation. Fuse Records is launching first and foremost as a vessel for cutting edge new music that aligns with the booking policy at the club. While there have been other styles that have come and gone in the years that Fuse has been open, the latest developments in techno have remained at the heart of the club’s mission, and there’s never been a more exciting time as the genre continues to mutate into thrilling new shapes. There are many shades to the techno that you can expect to hear on the dancefloor at Fuse, and so the label will represent a range of the sounds that continue to excite the club. The first release comes from Psyk, a Spanish producer whose rapid rise in recent years has been in tandem with his appearances at Fuse. His dark, experimental sound makes for a powerful statement of where Fuse Records is heading, staying true to physical nature of techno while reaching for exciting new modes of expression within the style. Further releases are also planned from local heroes goldFFinch and Berlin staple Henning Baer, proving that there will be no monochromatic formula to the sound on the label. From artists with a deep, long-lasting connection to the club through to vital new local talent, Fuse is committed to providing a platform for artists who share the club’s vision, promoting their music
