  • electronic music and art since 1990 HANDS commonly referred as Hands Productions was founded by Udo Wiessman in 1990 and is a pioneer label for contemporary electronic. It’s notable for discovering and developing many enduring artists in electronic music and over the years HANDS became one of the most diverse and active labels in the wide range of electronic music. Their styles reach from their route Rhythm’n’Noise to Dark Techno and from Breacore Drum’n’Bass over IDM to Electronica and Sound Art. The band rooster hast around 50 active artists which new album can be expected to come out on HANDS. The label catalogue has reached much more than 300 releases so far mostly fulltime albums on cd and vinyl. Most known currents label acts are Winterkälte, Orphx, End.User, Monolith, Geistform, Mono No Aware, Ah Cama-Sotz, Greyhound and S.K.E.T. . A trademark for the cds became the >HANDS Paper Pack< a cd-cover packaging made of heaven paper. Most layouts and packaging are designed by Nicola Bork. In the beginning from 1990 the first steps of the label were made from Fürth (Franconia/ Germany) where Udo Wiessmann started HANDS in 1990 as a platform without any compromises in artistic freedom for his own music projects Winterkälte, Atrum and Severance. The first releases were mostly strictly limited cassettes and after a while the standard formats became cds and vinyls. Winterkälte’s first 3 vinyl on HANDS and their style Drum’n’Noise became a genre defining for the today still growing Rhythm’n’Noise Scene. After the early years the label moved its operations step by step to Dortmund (Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region/ Germany) were they work from. Quite soon artists like Orphx, Needle Sharing, Ah Cama-Sotz joined the label with their very first albums. Briefly later artists like Mono No Aware, Klinik and many more joined the rooster.In 2000 the first label only compilation 2000 HANDS (2CD/5LP) war released.
