Idiomatic is a multidisciplinary project, dedicated to documenting, championing, and contributing to underground club music culture through collaborative and innovative methods.
We exist digitally and physically: crafting content that ranges from art and sensory focused music events, to interactive online media, and vinyl releases. In our endeavours we highlight the intersecting boundaries of physical and digital space through a range of mediums.
Idiomatic’s event instalments implement mixed reality methods including various levels of immersion and multiple sensory modalities, and addressing their impact on memory. We believe that the powerful and evocative nature of sensory stimulation can be used to enhance a club experience. Releasing original physical media content for each event instalment allows us to further contribute to lasting memory and value, through tangibility.
In exploring these themes and developing our resources, we intend to collaborate with visual and musical artists and serve as an inclusive platform for creation. Through our practice, we aim to transcend the conventional conceptions of music spaces, and leave behind collectable, physical-digital traces and memories.
