- This week's Exchange is a recording of the first-ever live keynote debate held at the annual International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza back in May. IMS invited 13 industry professionals together to ponder the question: is dance music headed in the right direction?
The panel featured a mix of promoters, venue managers and directors from clubs like fabric, House Of Yes, Printworks, MMA and Output, as well as artist agents, media figures and more, including up-and-coming club and radio DJ Jaguar, experimental pop artist SOPHIE and BBC Radio 1 veteran Pete Tong.
Moderated by RA editor Will Lynch, the talk covers both negative and positive trends such as the impact of rising DJ fees on promoters and venues, the illusory power of social media statistics, the emerging generation of politically-minded parties and strategies for strengthening club culture.
