Arram Mantana started deejaying in his hometown, Saint Petersburg at the age of 13 – and never stopped. After having studied piano at music school and short but passionate affairs with hip-hop and jungle, he consciously embraced New York house music.
Arram remains a devoted ambassador of the genre ever since, propagating it across the world for already 2 decades. His vibrant mixture of techno-fried house embellished by hypnotic moments and vivid hues of dub is catchy and distinctive, as are his self-produced works released at Cecile, Be As One, Plant 74, Culprit, Souvenir, Get Physical and Leftroom.
With his unique taste for music and expressive performing style, Arram gained both home and international recognition, playing at most notorious festivals such as KaZantip, Mayday Russia, ADE, Sonar OFF, BerMuDa official parties (EU) and BPM, WMC (USA).
Arram’s artistic mission extends far beyond deejaying: his passion for musical evangelism resulted in a number of massive events: DOGMA, Art Rite and Special Case Daytime Rooftop. Special Case Daytime Rooftops quckly became a nation-wide and world-famous phenomenon, bringing together local bohemian clubbing elite and edgy top-scale techno-escue acts such as Guy Gerber, Damian Lazarus, Margaret Dygas, tINI, Sonja Moonear, Jamie Jones, to name a few. Special Case Roof Tour (also produced and co-headlined by Arram) is cruising around Russia’s 10 biggest cities for already 4 years.
Arram Mantana is the founder and co-owner of a must-see rooftop club/concert hall HI-HAT, which becomes every summer a home for both techno/house events and live concerts. He also launched a clothing line "Screw Apparel", popular among ravers and DJs for its swank design and absurdist prints, mocking famous brands and slogans.
Currently Arram spends most of his time in the studio, meditating over sequencers and synths, creating tracks with his signature "deeper than deep, wider than dub" attitude - breaking the rules while keeping the spirit alive.
