The last month of 2016, the last month of Shelter, Say Yes invited some special guests for the last rave of this year at Shelter: After Boris, we've got one more senior Berghain resident, Ostgut Ton's live veteran, Tobias.; one of China's most respected DJs: Ben Huang who is the first generation DJ and used to run Yellow party; Shao, the first Chinese producer who's released on world's famous Techno label Tresor, his production is also selected for Tresor next compilation - Dreamy Harbor, featuring only 8 works by Donato Dozzy, Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald,Terrence Dixon and TV Victor.
2016年的最后一个月, Shelter的最后一个月, 我们邀请到了几位特殊的嘉宾加入Say Yes年末在Shelter的最后一场狂欢: 继Boris之后的又一 Berghian资深驻场, Ostgut Ton旗下live老将Tobias. 带来魔幻现场; 20余年从艺经验的老司机Ben Huang, 中国首批电子音乐人, 曾活跃在各个活动场景并在Shelter举办Yellow系列派对；SHAO, 首位在世界知名Techno传奇厂牌Tresor发行个人作品的华人艺术家, 并入选Tresor 2017年即将发行的25周年纪念合辑《Dreamy Harbor》所收录的8首作品之一, 其他主打艺人包括Donato Dozzy, Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald, Terrence Dixon和TV Victor。
Tobias Freund创作的历程要追溯到1980年代。他在德国传奇制作人Frank Farian的高级工作室里担任了多年工程师, 比别人接触到更多的模拟器材与插件，熟悉混音台上的各种。当他把工作重心从大众音乐转入地下音乐之后，他的化名从九十年代初就像是一个德国电子音乐的重大盘点：Metazone、Zoon、Phobia，特别是多产的Pink Elln。2003年是Tobias Freund的分水岭，他结束了在法兰克福的录音室工作, 前往柏林, 首先将个人创作转向techno和house, 用自己名字Tobias.命名专辑，通过淋漓精致的多种风格现场，在Acid、Ambient、Techno之间保持律动性，并尽可能多的展现细节来影响保持对舞池的冲击感。
多年的录音工作经验以及对各种电子器材的熟悉掌握的各种积累，Tobias发表了数张作品，其中包括 2007年的《Below Houston》、2008年的《Beat Study One》和2009年的《Clapper》。2011年为Tobias.的生涯高峰起点，他在著名的Ostgut Ton厂牌发表了个人专辑《Leaning Over Backwards》，展現出他丰富多样的曲风和音色，譬如经典之作《Party Town》，还有以人声重复贯穿始终的《Skippy》。他作品中的原创性和独特性，无人能复制, 也让他成功成为德国电子文化的标杆，世界各地Club,音乐节不可或缺的知名音乐人。
Tobias 从八十年代起开始类似组合形式的巡回表演，如Von Ese或Hypnobeat。与音乐伙伴 Martin Schopf aka Dandy Jack 组建的Sieg Über Die Sonnegraced, 和 Max Loderbauer 的合作项目nsi, 当然还有非常值得一提的是 Odd Machine, 与资深老将Ricardo Villalobos的强强联手, 以及Uwe Schmidt (aka Atom™) , 同样也是一位以Live表现形式著称的制作人，将所有的采样成果和丰富录制经历都投入到录制作品的过程中。他参与到许多重要音乐制作的混音工作中, 合作过的音乐人包括Efdemin, Cassy, Ellen Allien, Los Updates, Delano Smith, Margaret Dygas or Aérea Negrot, 包括一些重要音乐厂牌 Sähkö, Playhouse, Ongaku, Cadenza, Perlon, Logistic, Wagon Repair, Mule Musiq, 还有Ostgut Ton。这仅仅还只是一部分。
Tobias Freund了解音乐从由里到外的一切，因此他能够使自己不断进步。Tobias.的live演出结合了他的创作，但也经常将其中的元素拆解后重新拼贴, 让人既能感受到熟悉的旋律, 聆听过程中又激发出新鲜感。他通过复杂而扣人心弦的编排让人们为之倾听为之跳舞。Tobias Freund可能不是循规蹈矩的艺术家，但他却让很多人循“他”蹈矩。
In the works of Tobias Freund, inspirations are more to be suspected than to be pinned down. You feel they must be there. They just have to, if only for lack of better explanations. Still, his works are so original and individual that they have become a part of said knowledge themselves. Nobody else sounds like him, they just try to. He owns his sound.
Tobias Freund’s process of learning what you are doing stretches back to 1980. Since then, he worked as engineer in the high-end studio of German producer legend Frank Farian for many years, getting to know everything on the mixing desk you could tweak. And he gathered more analogue hardware than others have plugins installed, and got to know it as well. And when he felt he was ready to become an artist himself, he knew exactly what to do with the ideas he had in mind, and thus his music made an impact right from the very start. Transferring his overground work into underground output, his aliases since the early nineties read like an inventory of German electronic music: Metazone, Zoon, Phobia, and especially Pink Elln. Then he put the full stop behind his first name and started releasing tracks that refined the live approach to his broad variety of music between Acid, Ambient and Techno to reduced but jacking grooves that displayed as much attention to detail as to floor impact and became an integral part of the defining sounds emanating from Germany to rule the clubs worldwide since the turn of the millennium.
And it might help as well to extend your abilities to the work with other artists. Tobias Freund already started this as part of the electronic cassette circuit in the 80’s in groups like Von Ese or Hypnobeat, but a decade later his much loved group Sieg Über Die Sonne (with Martin Schopf aka Dandy Jack) graced the clubs with twisted and multi-faceted Techno Pop, and when it went on hiatus two decades later the project nsi. (with Max Loderbauer) and the Non Standard Productions imprint were initiated, to quickly become an institution for groundbreaking explorations in freeform electronic experimentalism. And there is Odd Machine, a joint venture with Ricardo Villalobos and Uwe Schmidt (aka Atom™) in particular, with whom he also forms a live and recording act that puts the weight of their experience into according action. He produced and remixed international stalwarts like Efdemin, Cassy, Ellen Allien, Los Updates, Delano Smith, Margaret Dygas or Aérea Negrot, on seminal labels like Sähkö, Playhouse, Ongaku, Cadenza, Perlon, Logistic, Wagon Repair, Mule Musiq, and, of course, Ostgut Ton. And this is just an excerpt.
With Tobias Freund a lot of things fall into place. He knows sound from the inside out, thus he is able to develop his own as well as lend his expertise to others. And even if the studio might be his favourite instrument, he knows so much about any hardware to produce electronic music that he can push the music forward any way he wants to. There is no need to divide his works into avant-garde or club contexts, because he effortlessly merges his whole spectrum into a performance that is all him, transforming the complex textures and gripping rhythms that make his music so fascinating into experiences where listening and dancing are one, and a whole life of music leads to ever new innovations. As it happens. On the spot. Tobias Freund may be non-standard, but he sure set many.
2005-2008 在摩登天空发行了《心象》《幻术》《幻象》三张专辑，2007年凭专辑《幻术》获华语音乐传媒大奖最佳电子乐艺人，《幻术》也得到欧洲权威电子音乐杂志MixMag 四星评价。2011年发表第四张专辑《亭台楼阁》。 2015年，他以本名 SHAO签约德国传奇性电子厂牌Tresor Records, 发行最新EP 《Doppler Shift Pt.1》。 十余年的电子音乐创作历程，邵彦棚以Dead J名义一直探索着极简、抽象、迷幻电子音乐的可能性。
个人音乐作品之外，邵彦棚的创作也涉及配乐作曲和声音设计。他与戏剧导演孟京辉的合作，包括《镜花水月》《恋爱的犀牛》《柔软》《活着》。2011年，应歌德学院邀请参与德国经典默片《大都会》的现场配乐。演出方面除国内各音乐节外，还包括德国Worldtronics Festival,瑞士Electron Festival,葡萄牙Cidade Preocupada Festival,墨西哥Cervantino Festival,挪威World Music Festival，荷兰ADE Festival等。
Shao Yanpeng aka Shao, previously known under the moniker Dead J, is one of China’s leading electronic artists. He began making electronic music in 2002.
His first album Mental Imagery was released in 2005 under China’s largest independent music label ModernSky, followed by two more albums Mental Magic (2006) and Psychedelic Elephant (2008). Shao was named “Best Electronic Artist” at the 2007 China Music Media Awards for his album Mental Magic. In 2011, Shao released his fourth album 'Tíng,Tái,Lóu,Gé' . In 2015, he signed legendary techno label Tresor records, joins Tresor ranks as China's first artist, and released new EP Doppler Shift Pt.1.
In addition to his personal projects, Shao is also a highly sought after composer and sound designer. He was invited in 2011 by the Goethe Institute to re-compose the soundtrack for the classic German silent film Metropolis. Shao has an ongoing cooperation with Meng Jinghui, one of Asia’s most influential avant-garde theatre directors and created several unique compositions for some of Meng's most popular plays such as 'Rhinoceros in Love' , 'Soft'，'To Live' etc. These works have been performed all over the world more than 3,000 times. The play 'To Live' was performed in the Deutsches Theater in Berlin and Thalia Theater in Hamburg

Ben Huang is one of the best known names in China's dance music scene, a home-grown techno and house DJ who's built a successful career over the past 20 years playing everywhere from festivals to huge corporate events while maintaining his credibility. He used to open a club 10 years ago, also hosted Yellow, one of Shanghai's original underground dance party series. He was here for the start. He's seen it all. He was one of the first Chinese techno DJs and has spent the past couple of decades being that rare thing in China, a bridge between what's going on in the Chinese music scene and what the laowai kids are promoting and listening to.

Janet Xue aka Misloop moved to Shanghai from Tianjin, over the years ventured her way into Techno, as she gradually established matured her funky personal style. Bagging various awards in both Beijing and Shanghai, including the National Pioneer DJ competition as the only female nominee, Misloop has discovered not only her love for electronic music but also for winning the crowd with her music.
