Award-winning dance music event, We Are FSTVL have announced the first phase of names for their 2016 festival which is set to take place across Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May. Returning to Upminster, Greater London for the festival’s fourth anniversary - with a staggering 14 stages in tow and 5 new production concepts - names include Jamie Jones, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Sven Väth Loco Dice, MK, The Martinez Brothers, Guy Gerber, Amine Edge & DANCE, Hannah Wants, Craig David, Kurupt FM and many, many more.
With the return of We Are FSTVL’s infamous Techno Warehouse seeing takeovers from forward-thinking club brands Used & Abused and Cocoon, its headline slots will come from techno pioneers Loco Dice and Sven Väth respectively. A slew of names including Richie Hawtin, Tale of Us, The Martinez Brothers and Âme are also scheduled to appear across both days, with Italian megastar Marco Carola taking play on Jamie Jones’ Paradise stage on Sunday 29th May. Visionary producer Guy Gerber is also announced to lead a showcase of his exploratory club brand and record label RUMORS with some very special guests to be announced for phase two.
Saturday sees the legendary MK return to Upminster with his Area 10 takeover following an incredible live performance at last year’s We Are FSTVL, with Hannah Wants set to join him for a typically bass flavored performance. Taking this genre further on the Main Stage is the hip-hop influenced duo, Amine Edge & DANCE, whilst Sunday’s main stage welcomes international superstar and garage icon Craig David – who, after making a huge comeback this summer will bring his touring club brand TS5 to Upminster for a very special performance. Also billed are the Kurupt FM gang from BBC Three’s People Just Do Nothing who promise to deliver an array of old skool garage hits to the festival’s main stage, with the help of by Radio 1’s very own Mistajam and rounded off by General Levy.
Over on Saturday’s UKF stage, Redlight, Monki and Friction are amongst first names announced for their high-energy takeover, whilst drum n bass institution Hospitality represent the genre on Sunday with Camo & Krooked set to headline. Joining forces for their b2b2b trio is Darius Syrossian, Santé and Sidney Charles, who collaborate with Abode to bring the newly launched Do Not Sleep concept that promises to fill the dancefloor with a day of non-stop tech house.
Since its sell-out launch back in 2013, We Are FSTVL have continued to welcome a host of both established and up and coming names from across the dance music spectrum. Having rapidly expanded in the short space of four years with recognition from the UK Festival Awards as 2013’s Best New Festival, and Best Medium Festival in 2014 - as well as branching out with their We Are WHSE club series - its 2016 edition seeks to be even bigger and better.
Five new production zones have been individually crafted for 2016, with unique performers, mind blowing visuals, and state of the art production techniques set to create the ultimate clubbing environment. Logistical improvements such as enhanced queuing systems will also be implemented, as well as a 50% increase in the transport operation via buses and trains.
