Following an explosive 2013 opening session with Umek, Uto Karem and the Filterheadz, global party starters FACT return to London for their second instalment and its another huge affair...
Japan’s most successful DJ and house music supremo, Satoshi Tomiie, makes a rare trip to the Capital for what promises to be a scintillating show, accompanied by the irrepressible sounds from Guy J as they host a Lost & Found showcase. Elsewhere, techno rules the roost as 8 Sided Dice & Drumcode star Alan Fitzpatrick rolls into town alongside Sci+Tec / Truesoul and fellow South coast techno warrior, Reset Robot. London party starters Leading Astray, Onvision & S/H/E/ also represent...
SATOSHI TOMIIE. Very special guest and dance music icon Satoshi Tomiie arrives for a rare London appearance. Satoshi Tomiie is Japan’s most successful DJ. From co-producing 'Tears' with Chicago’s ‘Godfather of house’ Frankie Knuckles back in '89, to remixing the globes biggest stars (U2, Mariah Carey, Photek, Simply Red, and David Bowie), to championing underground stars such as Audiofly, Doomwork, Mabaan Soul, Tuccillo and Guti on his and Hector Romero's Saw label, Satoshi remains a musical force to be reckoned with. Having spent a spell away from production to build and perfect a new studio set up, the new material coming out won instant support from fellow luminaries such as Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Reboot, Lee Burridge, 2000 And One and Davide Squillace. A absolute master of his craft, his legendary DJ sets are spellbinding, we eagerly await his performance at FACT in the Lost & Found room...
ALAN FITZPATRICK. Alan Fitzpatrick enters 2013 secure in the knowledge that he is on the top of his game and brimming with the confidence you would expect from a talent who is recognized globally as one of the most influential techno artists of the moment.
Alan’s output for Drumcode in particular has worked to grow his reputation as a maturing and dynamic producer capable of bringing stylistic variety to his productions. Whether he is adding diva-like vocals to cavernous beat workouts (‘Always Something For Nothing’ / ‘Skeksis’) or fusing emotive chord sequences with his trademark heavy-funk sound (‘For An Endless Night’ / ‘Prometheus’) or showcasing his sound-defining ‘Shadows In The Dark’ album or collaborating with Adam Beyer on the hugely popular ‘Human Reason’ and ‘Memesis’, there is a uniqueness to Alan Fitzpatrick productions that ensures his star remains firmly on the rise. Elsewhere, Alan’s releases for Bedrock (‘Reflections’, ‘Moon Palace’ – which was awarded a BBC Radio 1 Essential New Tune) and his own 8 Sided Dice imprint have raised the UK producers profile to a level where his remix services are in high demand, being recruited by the likes of John Digweed, Adam Beyer, Slam, Ben Sims, Cari Lekebusch and Joey Beltram.
Alan remains a core artist on Drumcode’s showcase events, including ADE and Miami conferences, where his trademark tough, hooky grooves and incendiary beats compliment the brands musical template. We look forward to him getting the crowd shaking at FACT...
GUY J. Very special guest and Lost & Found head honcho, Guy J, has established himself as one of the most sophisticated and emotive producers in electronic music of the last decade, with a body of work and a sphere of influence that belies relatively short time in the spotlight. Never one to be pigeonholed, his portfolio is a diverse beast, with releases finding their way onto Tiga’s increasingly eclectic Turbo imprint amongst others. Then there’s the small matter of a release on Sven Vath's Cocoon, one of the most highly regarded labels in techno and beyond, plus collaborations in the pipeline with some other inspiring artists. His Lost & Found project (a sub-label for John Digweed’s long running Bedrock mothership) is going from strength to strength and it's this platform that will be showcasing in room one with Guy J & Satoshi Tomiie colliding for something very special. We cant wait for his return, be prepared to be mesmerized...
RESET ROBOT is a name thats increasingly familiar to fans of dubbed-out, moody tech house and techno. Releases & remixes on iVav, Get Physical, Drumcode and Soma followed and more recently producing more bombs on Adam Beyer's Truesoul imprint and Popof's Form Music platform.
