This Party will be as spectacular, with some pretty unbelievable music from the man who recently played at Harvey’s 39 Hotel in Hawaii, and the man who also sound tracked a thousand sunsets on the White Isle of Ibiza in the early 90’s, alongside Jose Padilla. He also stole the show at the recent ‘Claremont 56 secret forest party in September, where he was a guest amongst other greats such as the Idjut Boys
We are very proud to have Phil Mison play for us for the first time in Liverpool......
Phil Mison is a London-based DJ, composer, and music producer.
Mison is best known for his compositions in the Balearic, ambient and electronica musical genres, which has been described as "sophisticated, exotic, and close-to-the-bone, mutable yet cohesive". Mison is especially famous in the Balearic music scene, where he has been described as a "pioneer" and a "goliath" of that genre.
Mison began DJing at London's Milk Bar in 1991 where he played warm-up sets for other artists. He lists as his influences popular DJs such as Jose Padilla, who helped him get his start after a chance meeting, which led to a two year residency at Ibiza’s Cafe del Mar (93/94), sound tracking a thousand sunsets with his vast collection of records. Phil then went on to put out his first compilation ‘Original Chill out’ in 1995, which was something of a ground breaking collection
Since then he has gone on to release a further 12 compilations (including four volumes of the hugely popular ‘Real Ibiza’ series),
He also records with friend Pete Herbert under the Reverso 68 guise, and in 2003 he released his debut artist album under the now familiar Cantoma moniker. The Cantoma label has been a huge success in Europe , Japan and the USA
Phil has also toured with the like of Leftfield and other bands, and has continually over the span of 20 odd years, graced many respected festivals and clubs with his presence.
Some memorable gigs of recent have included Harvey’s 39 Hotel in Hawaii, Bestival, Horse Meat Disco, Aficionado, Secret Sundaze, Disco Bloodbath, to name but a few
