Sharam, one half of Grammy-winning DJ act Deep Dish, will perform a headline set at Jordan’s premier dance club Prana on Thursday, October 18, 2007. Prana resident DJ Yazan will play the opening set at the event presented by Global Underground.
Sharam’s performance kicks off Prana’s winter sessions at the popular Amman venue with one of the year’s most anticipated DJ appearances. Prana first hosted Deep Dish in Jordan back in 2005 at an outdoor event that had the largest attendance for a DJ event in Amman at the time.
As one of house music’s important acts, Deep Dish’s 2005 album had major hits like “Say Hello”, “Flashdance”, and “Sacramento”. They were nominated for a Grammy in 2001 for their remix of Madonna’s smash hit “Music”, and in 2002 they won the Grammy for remixing Dido’s “Thank You”.
Sharam has had his own solo hits, with “P.A.T.T. (Party All the Time)” becoming a hugely popular anthem since 2006. His latest mix “GU29: Dubai” on Global Underground has also received excellent reviews. Along with his partner Dubfire, Sharam owns Yoshitoshi Recordings, Shinichi and YO!, three labels which have released some of the best dance music in the past decade.
Prana has hosted over 150 DJs and artists since 2004. Its most important event is the Prana Petra Festival, which featured Dutch star DJ Tïesto playing to 5000 people in July 2007.
