Who better to curate the final Foundations of the month than our Foundations resident Bklava, inviting fellow multi-genre selector, producer and LCY's SZNS7N affiliate Tailor Jae.
Playing at Patterns since 2017 and a resident with us since the beginning of 2019, South London-born, Brighton-based Bklava makes “non-stop bops and flava” you can’t help but groove to. Her multi-disciplinary talents – she sings, writes, produces and DJs – offer a sense of artistry more commonly seen in established industry veterans. Singer-songwriters like FKA twigs, Imogen Heap and Amy Winehouse, alongside producers/DJs like MJ Cole, Kaytranada and Disclosure, informing her heartfelt, sing-along vocal bops meet electronic-led bangers approach. Bklava, much like her reference points, always eager to keep soul at the forefront. Elsewhere, ventures like Spin Suga – her DJ platform / support network for aspiring female and non-binary producers and DJs – see her giving back to the community and amplifying aspiring artists.
Special guest Tailor Jae has established herself as a technical firehouse behind the decks, genreless at heart but heavy on the bass. She is one of London's most exciting DJ's
Hailing from East London with unique style that know no bounds, Tailor will take you through a exploration of genres with unexpected twist and turns and technicality to match. Known for her cutting and crafting of bass heavy sets you'll never know what to expect.
