ORDEN invites Swiss fashion designer sandro marzo to launch his upcoming SS20 collection at OHM Berlin w/ an accessible installation followed up by an Afterparty featuring a fine selection of both female and male DJs/Live Acts within the field of past, present and future electronics.
Within the walls of a club like OHM, fashion shows certainly can be done. You’ll see models crossing the dance floor and walking the bar area, where the audience is carefully seated around. Now, for his upcoming SS20 collection, sandro marzo chose a different way of presentation. As a nightclub like OHM is an interactive space, the „show“ within it can be as well. In the context of an installation, the audience becomes the moving part while the showcased fashion doesn’t move.
Here’s what you can expect: Imagine three replicas of Giacometti’s „L’homme qui marche“, caught frozen in the motion of walking. The audience is invited to encounter them and will find them wearing three main looks. Split up in Red, Grey and Black (RGB) the replicas will represent a mix of color and surface.
Within the walls of OHM, sandro marzo creates an interactive playground surrounded by mirrors which create the missing link between space, audience and fashion itself. Coco Chanel knew: With her mirrored staircase she could see both the audience and the showcased couture. Whoever is entering sandro marzo’s installation can reenact her voyeurism. And the lines between sculptural, performative and artistic disciplines begin to blur. To complete the whole experience, Samuel Savenberg (also known as S S S S) will create soundscapes referring to the designer’s heritage, presence and future.
Following up the installation part, we’re ready for the club-night itself. Five unique artists will show us their particular ways of creating and mixing electronic music. That being said, we’ll have a very special performance right at the beginning: Orden’s very own resident S S S S will play his recent album debut first time ever in its full length. Live. Get ready for „Walls, Corridors, Baffles“ (released on Präsens Editionen). His premiere will be followed by Bonnie who’ll rise hell on the floor with a DJ Set of hers. Next in line: The Marquis, a recent Canadian live act who’ll takes us to the depths of dark wave and dark minds. By the end of his performance everyone should be ready for DJ Gigola to take over. The rising member of the infamous Live From Earth collective is widely known for her boundary-breaking sets, oscillating between Techno, Trance and any other electronic genre (you name it). Last but not least, Agency is on closing duties. He’s part of Operant and Instruments of Discipline and his DJ-sets are definitely fueled by that kind of energy: punishing dark Industrial Techno. This is it how it ends. This is what you should join. And be sure, you’ll never forget about it.
