This Wednesday, we're cruising around NYC for our first boat party of the Summer for our classic July 4th weekend event!
This years ride includes the one and only Dyed Soundorom.
Ever since he first stepped foot into the dark and mysterious world of Paris’ legendary Batofar after-parties back in 1998, Dyed Soundorom has been enchanted with the world of DJing. Progressing from the dance floor to promoting events and learning to spin records himself, the Frenchman has become one of the world’s best-known selectors, traversing the globe both as a solo artist and as part of infamous trio Apollonia. Dyed is not only a highly respected DJ, but also a skilled producer, with several classic releases under his belt as well as an album with Apollonia.
Dyed’s journey began at the legendary Kwality parties run by Dan Ghenacia, a DJ who Dyed idolised in those early years. Eventually they became friends and formed a longstanding friendship that formed the unshakeable foundations of his career. These early experiences of Paris’ afterhours soirees undoubtedly shaped the music Soundorom makes and plays today – psychedelic, deep and above all else, groovy.
Which makes him the perfect captain for this years ReSolute boat party. Along with Dyed is another familiar face to our decks, Afriqua.
Berlin-based Adam Parker aka Afriqua is the kind of artist that started playing piano at age five and was already doing DJ battles at ten. He eventually applied to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where he had the chance to listen to one of Villalobos’s Fabric sets, which undoubtedly got him hooked to the genre. Although Afriqua’s first productions in the style were mostly minimal, he has recently been delving deeper into his own sound which draws a lot from his background as an educated musician. Melodies and complex harmonies, along with a meticulous production methodology have pushed him to the front lines of electronic music producers of this time. After experiencing impeccable sets by this artist on our 10 Year Anniversary and our Detroit party last year, it's time for a another round in the daytime on the water with lady liberty.
Commandeering our boat festivities will be our dear O.BEE who is back from Europe with some new music for us this Wednesday afternoon!
