For the 3rd edition of the O MATO Experience, we will return to the sacred lands of mother nature: the Jungle!
Embedded in the equatorial heart of the Amazon Rainforest, O MATO creates a parallel universe on a wooden island. A secluded space embraced by black waters, tropical forest and wild beaches. Music and Nature lovers from all around the globe gather to get back to our roots.
A truly unique form of event linking jungle adventures and explorative music performances on a magical venue. A 10-day adventure that guarantees great people, cultural exchange and unlimited freedom.
The festival venue lies on a private peninsula, a small eco-lodge, called “Cheiro do Mato”. Situated 200km northeast from Manaus, in the depths of the Brazilian jungle. Surrounded by the healthy Rio Apuau and undiscovered Anavilhanas Nationalpark - a sweetwater Archipel with hundreds of islands, lakes, and canals - it provides the perfect base for all kinds of tours and expeditions. Due to this secludedness, the only access is by boat.
Expect a variety of leisure activities. From adventurous expeditions, relaxing river cruises to traditional as well as modern workshops and activities such as fishing, canoeing or wakeboarding.

What is O MATO about?
O MATO is a German/Brazilian collective creating a platform for natural and cultural values to be exchanged within a global community. We want to communicate environmental and socio-cultural issues in harmony with the desire for an alternative, hedonistic and adventurous lifestyle.
The enhancement of cultural exchange is being realized throughout a series of events in Germany, Brazil and other countries around the world. Hereby we intend to promote tolerance and understanding on the basis of common interest: music and culture.
Our main project is "The O MATO Experience", a new form of social gathering incorporating adventure travels, outdoor parties and indigenous traditions in the midst of the Brazilian Amazon (6th - 16th September). We enhance environmental awareness by offering local held workshops and nature explorations. Local staff, regional products and recycled materials are the essences for a sustainable treat with the local economy and nature.
