Intimate space deep in the heart of Manchester city centre just off Stevenson Square.
We have officially been organising orgasmic music for one whole year. To celebrate, we invite you to join us for a spectacular soiree held in the deepest depths of where it all started - A Thursday night in the Soup Kitchen basement.
This year we have an artist who digs the murkiest depths of the web, an artist that challenges the very concept of a club DJ, an artist who is the first ever person to include footnotes on an RA podcast… DING DONG… It’s DJ Bus Replacement Service!
By day, Doris Woo is a data protection lawyer, by night she dons her Kim Jong-un outfit (an extension of her interest in North Korean pop music) and performs DJ sets combining comedy and the fine art of not giving a shit.
An unlikely phenomenon, DJBRS has been a trailblazer for all music unconventional and incorrect. Her sets at Sonar and Freerotation Festival, as well as endless clubs around Europe, have consistently blown audiences away.
We welcome her to Soup ahead of her set at Unsound Festival in Poland and we hear she has a few tricks up her sleeve… expect the face-meltingly unexpected with a sprinkling of donk.
“Pissing yourself laughing on the dancefloor is not an experience that comes round every weekend but I would highly recommend it!”
- Angus Finlayson
