Move D (live)
Move D Live
Following his extremely well received Dj set in Glasgow earlier this year Section is proud to present Move D live. As the world of electronic music continues to move away from the dry, minimal sound, D's warm, deep past looks prescient. He has been churning out the hits with a string of incredible releases for labels like Smallville, Warp, Source Records, Bine, Plug Research, Workshop and Modern Love. His live performances have been on par with his studio work, pulling from all corners of his diverse catalogue in order to create an experience that attacks the hips and head in equal measure. His releases touch on house conventions but are delivered in his own inimitable style, leaving everyone—from long time fans to the uninitiated—with their jaws on the floor.
In 1991, he started his own label, Accelerate, where he released a string of influential releases as DBX. His music is influenced primarily by Chicago House, his productions characterized by minimalist house grooves accented by blips and bleeps. Becoming famous for his international hit "Losing Control", Daniel set up 7th City in 1994, which to this day releases cutting-edge techno music. In 2000 he released his mix CD with Tresor entitled "The Button Down Mind of Daniel Bell" and relocated to Berlin, Germany. In Berlin he has created a series of remixes for John Tejada, Pantytec, Akufen and Anthony Shakir. February 2003 saw him release his second mix CD "The Button-Down Mind Strikes Back" on Paris label Logistic. He has played Dj sets in Liquid Room in Tokyo, Fabric in London, Rex Club in Paris, Limelight in New York, Redno in Chicago, Nitsa in Barcelona, and Staples in San Francisco to name a few.
