Raul's uniqueness lies in his versatility, his warm up sets are luscious, groove laden affairs that never get boring, his peak time sessions mix melodic techno, unique breaks and a constant sense of suspense, and his end of the night sounds rely heavil..
Having grown up surrounded by music from day one, it's no surprise Raul Siberdi has become Tel Aviv's electronic Wunderkid. Influenced by a father who sang for a living and a mother heavily into rock and disco, rhythms, melodies and harmonies were a part of everyday life for this boy growing up on the suburbs of the big city. With Queen, Elo, Earth Wind and Fire, Boney M and dozens more constantly being heard throughout the house , his connection with beat driven sounds was immediate.
Listening to electro and trance music from as early as 13, Raul started putting together mixes in his bedroom at the young age of 15. Diving head first into the subtleties, colors and textures of electronic music, and finding an immediate (and enthusiastic) crowd amongst friends, he knew he found his calling.
The hunt for that perfect mix became an obsession as he spend hours on end downloading, matching tracks and trying to create the energy of sets by the likes of Armin, Above and Beyond and more.
As early as 18, already a well established dj in the the Tel Aviv suburb of Rishon Letzion where he grew up, he released his first track (a co-production with Maor Levy) on Anjunabeats, and with support from the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk and more, it gave an enormous boost to his local career.
But it was a 2 year trip around the world he took after turning 21 that shook his musical tastes to the core, after being exposed to the underground sounds of European deep house, dub techno and beyond, he returned to Israel overflowing with new and innovative musical perceptions.
Constantly searching for the elusive and intrinsic sounds of underground electronic music, his sets became pulsating trips of techy rhythms and subversive melodies, echoed in his 2016 release with long time collaborator 123XYZ 'Lazy dub', released on New York's legendary Nervous records. 'Lazy' was a favorite of anyone from Damian Lazarus and Danny Daze to dj Hell and Noir, and by this time he was already the youngest resident of the world renown Cat and Dog club in Tel Aviv, spinning to thousands each week and playing alongside the likes of John Digweed, D-nox, Joris Voorn and countless others.
So now, come 2017, after almost a decade of dance floor and studio wizardry, and barely out of his 20's, Raul is set to take his rare skill and expertise to the next level. And with a deep passion and unsurpassed dedication to the game, it will surely arrive in due time..
