Dean Mir, most noted in the city of London for the boy behind Bloop London (www.blooplondon.com) Built with heart, humour and a devotion to broadcasting electronic music, bloop is a family run radio that has risen quickly since its incorporation in 2015. With Dean heading operations, bloop now boasts listeners tuning in from over 60 countries daily, with guests and residents from the likes of Kiasmos, Gabriel Ananda, Powel, Edu Imbernon, to name but a few – no small feat in an ever-expanding landscape of platforms, outlets, tastes and frankly, noise.
Aside from his successes in the world of online radio, Dean’s creative streak shines in his abilities behind turntables. Along with hosting his weekly show ‘Interlude’ and running live streamed rooftop parties and secret location warehouse events across the capital, it takes a good DJ to understanding the art in warming up a crowed, Mir has also earned a reputation for himself for his renowned warm up sets, most notably in 2018 becoming the supporting DJ at Christian Loffler’s Ensemble, Lusine’s London album launch, followed recently also by becoming Kiasmos supporting DJ at the iconic South Bank Centre, a line up curated by Robert Smith from “The Cure” called Concrete Lates.
His selections are deep eloquent, peaceful and reassuring. Floating through what feels like a guided tour in mindfulness, with each angelic emotive melody mixed at the perfect phrasing of the next, creating an effortless and balanced ride which Mir has become most known for - readying the floor by bathing the listener in what feels like musical mysticism.
