The path of independence in a scene tied to consumption and marketing is not the most simple. But it's the one Damian Levensohn chose when he started his career as a DJ in 2011, and the results seem to have given him the go-ahead. From his native Buenos Aires, he knew how to give those first steps associated with one of South America's most legendary clubs: Cocoliche. His eclectic musical selection makes him a selector suitable for parties close to House as well as Techno, two worlds that, for him, configure the same universe.
Since then, his artistic growth has not stopped, managing to earn a place among the most respected artists of the Argentine scene. His gigs have taken plance in all the most important clubs of Buenos Aires and also of the interior of the country. From 2013, he began to travel annually to Europe, where his background reveals gigs through prominent booths such as Razzmatazz and Macarena in Barcelona, Anita Berber in Berlin or Ibiza Sonica Radio. Brazil and Chile are other destinations where he was able to reap experiences and praises.
Hand in hand with the development of his activity as a DJ, Damian was able to generate a career as journalist specialized in electronic music, an essential role that catapulted him as an undisputed reference in the region. Besides collaborating in different magazines and radio stations, his main work is given in Buenos Aliens, the most representative webmag of the electronic scene on the continent with 20 years of experience.
During the recent 2017, there was a fact not minor for his career: one of the most interesting festivals in the global scene called him to be part of it's Buenos Aires edition. That's how on september he was part of the night segment of Mutek Argentina, sharing DJ booth with names like Mathew Jonson and Sonja Moonear. This year, he was already part of the first showcase of Dekmantel Festival in Buenos Aires. While he´s working on what will be his first audiovisual project, under the alias Mandy Rarsh.
