Shamanic dance music, outdoor parties, kaleidoscopes.
Commoner is a passionate producer and DJ whose inspiration originates in the dust of outdoor music festivals and the sand of Kenyan beaches. Since he began his sonic quest in 2017, he has sought to create and play an uplifting, unique style of mid-tempo, organic, deep tribal dance music.
Commoner's production garnered some very early success with multiple releases on Lump Records and Stil vor Talent's 'A Tribe Called Kotori' compilation series alongside far more established artists including Oliver Koletzki, Acid Pauli, Be Svendsen, Monolink, Nicola Cruz, and BLOND:ISH.
His production continues to improve, and draw upon more and more diverse instrumental and vocal samples from around the world, with an overall aesthetic vision to convey a sense of human tribal unity. We can expect consistent and frequent releases and collaborations from Commoner in the promising years to come.
Commoner's growing reputation as a crowd-unifying tribal DJ has led him to play on some of the world's most vibrant outdoor festival stages including Oregon Eclipse Camp in the USA, Noisily Festival of Music and Arts in the UK, and Kilifi New Year in Kenya. In addition, he has frequently played at London clubs including Folklore, Shoreditch Platform and The Coronet. He aims to include at least one sample from each continent in every DJ set - you can expect to be taken on a wandering and evocative journey through faraway lands.
Commoner is London-based but frequently on the move - usually in pursuit of the sun!
