Welcome to the RA page for the Miami based production/DJ duo Andretta
Based out of Miami, Florida, Andretta are two American brothers that have used their international backgrounds to influence their music. They started off in the Miami underground circuit before being discovered by Cedric Gervais in 2009. They released their first single, Tendencies, on his record label, and it was an instant smash in the tech house scene. Gervais himself, remixed the track and set the brothers off on an incredible year of success that saw their remix to Patrick M's Same Time, being featured on Tiesto's radio show. The duo followed that up with a couple of collaborations with Patrick M, which were featured on Cr2 and Nervous Records and various compilations. It was at this point in time that the brothers kicked off their first tour which started in Dubai and ended in Miami. Upon returning from tour, the duo returned to the studio, this time for an acclaimed remix to Silver Lining for renowned vocalist, Nadia Ali. The remix was featured on her compilation album and it prompted the brothers to decide to work on their very own first album.
In the spring of March 2011, the brothers released their first studio album, Black Rainbow. It was a 13 track progressive house album that captivated the dance music world and was showcased throughout Miami's Winter Music Conference (WMC) of that year. At this point in time the duo decided that they wanted to reinvent their sound and do something different. They wanted to showcase their diversity as artists and work on styles of music that were not as mainstream as their previous works. For the next two years the brothers worked on their second studio album, the critically heralded, Midnight. Their track Backwards Thinking with Mikael Johnston received rave reviews as did their collaboration with Azeem on Wicked Fruit. The brothers decided to set off on another tour which culminated in the first of the now annual WMC party, The Movement.
Andretta, have just wrapped up their third and brand new album "Before Anything Mattered." A 30 track album that ranges through electronica, tech-house, and progressive sounds. The concept of the project was to put together a piece of work that didn't cater to any specific sound or audience. The project is rough in texture, and avoids any specific arrangement for radio play. However, "Old Kanye" a song off the project, took off during the 2016 edition of WMC and is already being played by some of the biggest names in the industry. The album is expected to generate many singles, and kick star a summer tour for the duo.
Excited with the initial reaction to their third album, the brothers decided that they would immediately return to the studio to work on something they had never done before, a full blown vocal album. After 7 years in the business Andretta decided to call upon all their musical friends to put together what they expect to be the biggest project of their successful careers. They expect the album to be a complete representation of their Italian and Egyptian heritage as well as their Miami connection, the city they have called home for the last decade. The brothers will continue to tour while they work on the album and will continue to work with other artists on remixes and collaborations. In addition, they have launched their own record, In Too Deep Records, a record label based exclusively on releasing quality music. While it has been quite a busy first 7 years, Andretta expect 2017 to be the biggest one for them yet. With a new record label, new album, and a fourth album already planned, the future is bright for the duo.
